Ronnie At Helm

Nations Trust Bank Plc (NTB) recently announced the appointment of Ronnie Peiris as its Chairman effective from this year.
He has served on the Bank Board for many years and is also currently an executive director on the John Keells Holdings PLC (JKH) Board and is also its Group Finance Director.  Peiris is also a Director in several Listed and Non Listed Companies.
He has over 40 years of Finance and General Management experience, 37 of them at Senior Management level in Sri Lanka, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Immediately prior to joining JKH, Peiris was the Managing Director Anglo American Corporation (Central Africa) Ltd. Lusaka, the Zambia based subsidiary of Anglo American Plc, a company listed on the London Stock Exchange. He has also served on the Boards of many companies that were involved in a variety of activities ranging from Manufacturing, Brewing, Milling, Hoteliering to Real Estate Development and Financial Services. Previously he had held senior positions ranging from Planning Manager Lever Brothers (Ceylon) Ltd, Sri Lanka, Group Management Accountant Yahala Group of Companies Sri Lanka to Finance Director Anglo American.
In addition to holding an MBA from Cape Town University with Marketing and Human Resource Management as his specialisations, Peiris is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA) Scotland, Society of Certified Management Accountants (FSCMA) Sri Lanka and Zambia Institute of Certified Accountants respectively.
He is currently the President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors, a member of the Main Committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the Chairman of its Taxation Sub Committee and  its Economic, Fiscal and Policy Planning Sub Committee.
