German Official Visits The North

A German government official visited the north last week and met with various officials including the Government Agent Imelda Sukumar, a spokesperson at the German Embassy in Colombo said.
Head of Political Affairs for the Asia Pacific region in the German Foreign Ministry Cyril Nunn, also met External Affairs Minister G. L. Peiris and other government and opposition members in Colombo during his two day visit to the country.
The German Embassy spokesperson told The Sunday Leader that the visiting official toured Jaffna to observe post-war developments in the area.
The German Ambassador in Colombo Jens Plötner accompanied the visiting German Foreign Ministry official to Jaffna. (ER)
