Cops Chill With A Wanted Man

He is on the wanted list but the police do not seem to think so. Western Province Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Anura Senanayake (extreme right) and other police officers are seen here in conversation with state media journalist Sudarman Radaliyagoda at the Kotte Rajamahavihara Temple following the double murder last week. A Court order was issued last month for the arrest of Radaliyagoda over a charge of producing a fake document to obtain scrap iron from Sri Lanka Telecom.  – Picture by Asoka Fernando

Once you join the SL Police, become a henchman of the regime chief, or get elected as member of a local body, you do not belong to Sri Lanka and you are free from the Law of the Land. You can rob, rape or hit and run, no one will touch you.
        This is LawLessLanka.

Once you joined the police, can you get elected to a local body? I am baffled. but I am only joking, I know what you mean. The police and especially the traffic lot are above the law.

I praise the type of journalism your paper does. This is what needed to pinpoint the mistakes of the rulers. Did we forget the type of elections held in Srilanka? Did all the voters vote in our elections? Even the dead ones voted. Is the real thief arrested anywhere? Was the murderer punished elsewhere in Srilanka? You go and complain about any of their part men, they will not have officers or vehicles to send. But of an opposition, wow no need of a charge sheet. You are dragged. I wonder whether the police wok for the ruling party men or the general public – citizens of the country. That is the type of Police Service we have. This is not a wonder dear as long as they think that we can be made fools easily.

Bunch of crooks and criminal pigs!

  7. Mahen

What is so special? There are quite a few wanted men who are walking around free while many more are languishing in the jail locked up for minor irritations that are inconvenient to the people in power.

  8. Gotta the hero

If the cops can protect criminal politicians, why not hang out with these thugs who do all the dirty work for them?

  9. Shocking & Shocking………Snr Police officers hand & glove with a thief………I see the point of HR concerns now in SL.

  10. baghya

When criminals in uniform and thieves get together its always party as hell. A fine example rule of law is upheld in this “wonder of asia”. One missing person is a drug dealing politico. Then it will be a perfect picture!

  14. MF

Nothing surprising….Police would look the other way and apply a separate law if you are a MR supporter…

  15. dagobert

Could we handover this Sena – naike and the others there to court instead ?/ they will have more beans to spill.

    LANKA PUTRA….. Not all policemen….
Exception are those in the captioned photograph.

  16. jaliya

This picture should be the “picture of the year”. A fine example of how law and order is upheld in this country. Senior cops with a wanted man with an arrest warrant. This is the state of the law and order in this country today. No wonder its called “Wonder of Asia”

    hora police

  18. Percy Amarasinghe

Opposition MP’s who waste time in debating issues like Rs. 7500/- living income don’t take time time to question these in Parliament . Percy

I have nothing but despise for the police whether they be road cops or higher ups. They are no better than the underworld scum. These rodents have no shame or self respect. And they are supposed to our friends. Who needs enemies with these ” police friends “.

  20. Katmai

Enough expressions of what Sri Lanka has become today.

Is it not high time that we all started talking about what we are going to do come next election cycle? Are we just going to throw our vote at UPFA, UNP or JVP and hope that they will get better next time or do we look for an alternative from now on?

Just remember that Einstein once said “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”

This is very common in Sri Lanka. They netted small and big one like raddaligoda still swim. What a shame :-(
