Sally Slams Milinda, Maharoof

UPFA Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) member Azath Sally slammed UPFA CMC members Milinda Moragoda and Mohommad Maharoof over their failure to protest against the US sponsored Resolution on Sri Lanka submitted at the UN Human Rights Council.
Speaking to The Sunday Leader, Sally recalled that when he attempted to resign from his post in the CMC President Mahinda Rajapaksa had urged him to stay.
Sally says that as a result he now continues to operate as an independent member and not a member of the UPFA in the CMC.
He also accused Moragoda and Maharoof of creating the post of opposition leader and deputy opposition leader in the  CMC when under the Council’s constitution such posts do not exist.
Sally was of the opinion that those “fake” posts were created as Morogoda wanted to maintain a higher status as he was once a government Minister.
Azath Sally also claimed that that the UPFA members of the CMC have so far had four group meetings and all four were held at 5 star hotels.
He called for the appointment of a commission to investigate where the UPFA CMC members got funds to hold meetings in 5 star hotels.
Sally also said that both Moragoda and Maharoof had failed to attend a protest rally staged last week by the CMC opposition against the US backed Resolution on Sri Lanka.
He said that their failure to take part in the protests had raised several questions and doubts on the allegiance of both members with the government. (ISA)
