The Sunday Leader

Alternative Sunday Two

Adagio Chorale, Lalinda from Adagio Chorale and Pamuditha from Duckdog

Alternative Sundays really is continuing to live up to its name as each gig goes by. This week one of the more unusual acts of the night was Adagio Chorale an all male acapella group. They sang an interesting rendition of ‘lonely day’ by System of a Down and bravely covered ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ by Queen. Circus Cult and Helter Skelter continued to slay this time as well, and Duckdog did a recurrently entertaining performance. Additional new comers on the scene were Ravensung a very promising upcoming metal band that played four originals ‘Devil Dance’, ‘Reclaim and Retake’, ‘Vendetta for the Hated’ and ‘Decree to Damn the Hypocrites’. What sets them apart from most of the local metal bands is the use of live keyboards which is something that not many currently do. White Living Grave who were the other new band to grace Alternative Sundays displayed some crazy talent, they are definitely another band to keep your eye on as they have done nothing but continue to improve each time they perform. They did some solid covers of both Lamb of God and Amon Amarth and even played two originals including ‘Shotguns and pistols’.
These gigs are the kind of continuity that’s needed around the scene right now so if your ever curious or just looking for something new to check out look out for the next Alternative Sunday and drop by.
