Canadian Delegation Happy With Development
A Canadian Parliamentary delegation has expressed satisfaction over the development work undertaken in the North, the External Affairs Ministry said.
The visiting Canadian Parliamentary delegation led by Christopher Alexander, Parliamentarian and Secretary to the Canadian Ministry of Defense met with the Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L.Peiris after their tour of the north.
“They expressed satisfaction over the development work undertaken in the North and also discussed issues of bilateral interest,” the External Affairs Ministry said.
Minister of Irrigation and Management of Water Resources and Leader of the House Nimal Siripala de Silva also participated in the discussions.
The Canadian delegation also included Rick Dixtra, Parliamentarian and Secretary to the Ministry of Immigration and Citizenship Affairs, Senator Vernon White and John Light of the Foreign Affairs section of the Canadian Government.
There was no immediate comment from the Canadian delegation on their tour of the north.
