A Health Hazard

Garbage piled up near the Ayurveda hospital in Maharagama seems to have irked area residents. A board was seen last week planted on the garbage with the words “Public Health Inspectors (PHI) are you asleep”?

  1. This is such a shame to trash our environment like this. I hope the Inspectors do something about this, and quickly!

this is truely sri lanka, garbage everywhere. I feel no one in sri lanka is interested to live in a clean country, whether the public nore the government. Sri lankans have all ready to choosen to live in a very dirty country.

There is only one efficient man who can solve these problems, the Defence Secretary. Forget the idle Inspectors, contact Gotabhaya.

I recommend a five feet grilled trash barrels with two feet legs and an open gate at a side to collect trash instead of the old concrete barrels which were ransacked by stray dogs and later removed by the authorities.

Yes, before complaining the authorities must provide adequate facility to the public to put their garbage!!!!

We visited Srilanka last year and we just returned few weeks back . I am very sorry to say this, we visited Jaffna last year and this time too. The road to Vaddokotte you could see trash from plastic bags to hospital waste been dumped like what you see in the pictures above and partial burning taking place everyday. Nobody seems worried about it. We used to take a deep breath passing by this place to avoid breathing the smoke. It is a health hazard for the entire area and pass by travelers. I hope somebody take some pictures and send to Environment authority and to the Minister responsible.

    Tks

People should stop using plastic carrybags ,Don’t be in a hurry to blame health inspectors alone.People are also responsible for this mess.
