A Different Experience

The fourth Instalment of Alternative Sunday organized by Red And BP took place on the 27th of May at The Fuze. This time, the show had a slightly different line up compared to the previous instalments, with some R n B and Experimental music.Starting off was Maria Soysa with some acoustic backed by Riyal of Helter Skelter and Ruchi. Her performance included Iris by Goo Goo Dolls and also different version of We found love by Rihanna.
The next band that took the stage was Not Another Metal Band who started off with Santeria by Sublime.For the second consecutive time at the Alternative Sunday series, Kei Watanabe gave a wonderful acoustic performance accompanied by her Ukulele and backed by Asela Perera.
A whole different vibe was brought to this times instalment when a RnB performance was given by Dawn Jay, who is tied to a Singaporean label 1OR8FACTION. Jay performed the tracks Liar, Cassanova and 2 more of his originals.Jude Perera of YES Superstar Fame covered Karmins ‘Broken Hearted’, and an exceptional cover of Rihanna’s ‘Take a bow’ and ‘We found love’ which the crowd seemed to love.
This round, Helter Skelter performed but with a slight change in its line up, Riyal Reffai on bass guitar also took up the responsibility of lead vocalist. They gave the crowd an awesome Rock and Roll performance that didn’t disappoint.Cynosure, one of the oldest alternative bands from home also performed.Next to perform was Hollow. They covered White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane and Grave Digger by Dave Matthews, and their original track Sweet Betrayal.
Finally it was the post rock/Experimental band Eats Shoots And Leaves with drummer Dhinesh Manuel of Powercut Circus fame, the Perera brothers from Thriloka Uvindu and Sarani, who gave the crowd a good show.Alternative Sunday concluded. Giving the crowd a different experience compared to the other rounds. With the next instalment coming soon, with more local talent to be featured and hoping to give the audience a memorable musical experience.
