Udil Malaka Shines At Karate Tournament

L.A. Udil Malaka a Grade 9 student at Sri Dheerananda Pirivena did creditably well at the recently concluded Western Province School Karate Tournament held on June 5 and 10 at Sapugaskanda Maha Vidyalaya.
Malaka, a promising youngster bagged the third place in the Katha and Thum contests.
He is trained by Sri Lanka Karate Association umpire NLL Anura Liyanage and Sri Dheerananda Pirivena Sports Instructor DM Sunil.
This was not the first time Malaka has brought recognition to his school – he has done so on many other previous occasions as well. He is also a bright student who is popular among the students and teachers alike in the Pirivena.
