No Warrant For ITN’s Sudharman – Police

The Police says there is no pending arrest warrant on ITN Deputy Manager Sudharman Radaliyagoda and so there is no need to arrest him.
Police spokesman S.P. Ajith Rohana said that though a warrant had been issued in May to arrest Radaliyagoda that warrant did not exist at the moment. “There is no existing court order calling for the arrest of Radaliyagoda,” he said.
He said that to the best of his knowledge the previous court order was lifted. However, he could not confirm this but insisted that at the present time there is no arrest warrant.

Over 10,600 people who had warrants against their names were arrested over the past three weeks from around the country. IGP N. K. Illangakoon ordered the Police to arrest all those who had outstanding warrants.
In May this year, Radaliyagoda was issued with an arrest warrant after allegedly forging documents and collecting Rs. 1.5 million from two businessmen having promised to recover scrap iron which had been detached from the Colombo-Badulla railway line.
