Necklaces Snatched During Jaffna Festival

The necklaces worn by some Hindu devotees attending the Jaffna Nallur Temple festival were snatched by an organized gang last week.
According to the police a seven-member gang was arrested and the stolen chains recovered. The suspects had snatched the chains of four women during the festival last week and had escaped in a van.
Investigations revealed that the suspects are residents of Chilaw and Chenkaladi and had committed similar crimes at religious festivals around the country. The Jaffna police are conducting further investigations. (ER)

      Jayath Nandana,
Security Forces need not be directly involved – are you not aware of murders within hooting distance of police & army checkpoints, and White Vans which escape through them?

  2. Citizen
