No Meat No Booze
All butcher shops and liquor shops in the Kelaniya area will be closed on September 11 and 12 due to the Kapila Vastu relics exposition at Kelaniya Temple, Minister of Public Relations Dr. Mervyn Silva said.
Silva made the announcement on Friday, adding that all the liquor shops and butcher shops have to be closed despite their religious beliefs.
Excise Department officials said that the Minster does not have powers to issue a decree, but the local police officials make a decision.
