Praying for divine intervention

Residents of Java Lane are seen praying on the road on Friday 14. A seven-acre plot of land, containing houses and shops, will be cleared to make room for a multi-story housing complex. This will be constructed by the Indian industrial giant TATA – Picture by Thusitha Kumara

WHAT ELSE CAN THEY DO WITH A GOVERNMENT LIKE WHAT WE HAVE.??
THE GOVERNMENT CARES TUPPENCE FOR THE FEELINGS OF THE POOR. MARK MY WORDS, WE WILL SOON HAVE DIVINE RETRIBUTION.
THE GOVERNMENT IS RIDING ROUGH SHOD ON THE PEOPLE.
IF THEY DO NOT TAKE A LESSON FROM THE FATE OF DICTATORS IN THE RECENT PAST, THEY TOO WILL BE SOON CONSIGNED TO THE DUSTBINS OF HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It won’t be divine retribution, there will be another rebellion.
its divine retribution.they ask the god what they need, they become rebels because of comments like this.
Ok the government is arrogant but let’s be reasonable, isn’t it good to build a nice apartment block in the place of that ramshackle lot there? No point seeking divine intervention, he won’t be able to help but these people should either get flats in the new block or a decent compensation. Development has to happen and it will always be challenging because it will either involve shifting people or felling trees. For example, during Mahaveli projects in 1980s, some million people were moved and for many it was a very uncomfortable experience.
I am from Slave Island. It gave me life.
It’s sad to see today so called elected leaders put their own interest before the humanity.
That’s pity
Another bunch of fools! Quite common amongst the politicians & the ordinary people.
Are they worshipping the Trishaw ?
may be you see the trishaw but for sure not the cement or any stones
Looks like they are loobed up and bending over to get a good raming by the GOSL!
power and the poor. rich versus inadequate social justice.
Lucky there are no Greeks close by.
