Explanation To Be Sought From Alliance

By Indika Sri Aravinda

An explanation is to be sought from UPFA Members of Parliament who did not vote or were absent during the vote on the Strategic Development Project gazette last week.

Chief Government organizer Dinesh Gunawardena told The Sunday Leader that explanations will be sought from the UPFA MPs who failed to back the gazette during the two days of the vote.

The JHU and the NFF were among those who had not backed the Government during the vote on the controversial gazette.
Meanwhile, JHU spokesman Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe said that it has lost faith in the government on the issue and will stage protests against the gazette.

Warnasinghe challenged the government to push for an amendment in the deal signed between the Board of Investment and the Crown Group which will allow the Crown Group to operate a Casino in Sri Lanka under the new gazette.
