Happy 20th Anniversary Sunday Leader

am both elated and proud to wish our sister newspaper, the Sunday Leader a happy 20th anniversary. Maintaining the good relationship and trust the Leader has maintained with its loyal readership is no easy task and to do so over the span of two decades is a mammoth effort. The Sunday Leader with its brave and groundbreaking penmen has proven that they are quite up for the task, not only during the past but for further decades to come.

At present the face of many professions and industries are undergoing a rapid metamorphosis. The face of print media as well as the whole of the media itself cannot escape but embrace this change with innovation. Many of the mediums that go before the public to be judged, such as cinema, theatre, music, art along with popular media must constantly reinvent themselves in order to cope with the rapid changes of today’s spectators’ tastes and needs.

The Sunday Leader, who today celebrates its 20th anniversary, along with Irudina and the rest of the Leader Holdings family, has just turned over a new leaf through our new management and dynamic approach to bring you a paper that is suited for your needs. We are today ready to change and grow with you in the ever expanding world. Our goal today is to bring something truly Sri Lanky to your doorstep. Breaking away from the imitative western models of journalism, here at Leader Holdings, we are prepared to bring you the newspaper that you need not the paper you would read.

As an innovative paper with an adventures spirit that is not afraid to take risks for their readers, the Sunday Leaders has come ever so close to its readership over the years. That is why the Sunday Leader is inseparable from its reader as much as the reader is inseparable from it. We truly wish to be of service to you. The Sunday Leader along with the Leader Holdings family believes in the spirit of the Sri Lanky family and we are here to be your family’s print media. For twenty years through thick and thin the Sunday Leader has striven to protect what makes us true Sri Lanterns and it is and shall be our prime objective.

The Sunday Leader has striven to open the door to an intelligent society, to give the floor to intellectual discourse and to plant the seeds of wisdom and they shall forever be dedicated to these very tasks. In their relentless pursuit, from the bottom of my heart, I wish them all the best so that they may continue along the path of great service, which is the true duty of a truly philanthropic publisher.
