Senathirajah To Be Appointed ITAK Leader

The General Secretary of Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kadchi (ITAK), Mavai Senathirajah is to be appointed as the leader of ITAK at the next national convention of the party, sources told The Sunday Leader.

The national convention of ITAK will be held from September 6 to 9 in Vavuniya and a decision has been taken to appoint Mavai Senathirajah as the leader of the party.Sources said that the decision was supported by the current leader of the party R. Sampanthan.

According to sources Sampanthan will remain as the leader of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA).

Sources also revealed that the constituent partners of the TNA had also reached a decision to register the TNA as a political party in the near future.

    The TNA is on its way out. As an observer of this situation, I can see no reason or condition in any nation where a central proxy to the terrorist would be allowed to continue to be a political force. They can not be trusted by the general public.
