Government To Probe Victimised Envoys

By Indika Sri Aravinda

The External Affairs Ministry is to review politically victimized Ambassadors and officials of the foreign service during the former regime.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ajith P. Perera said that those who are currently in the Foreign Service are unqualified and that most of the appointments are political.

Therefore, the Foreign Ministry has focused on recalling every official in foreign embassies and to make new appointments according to a concrete policy, the Deputy Minister said.

Accordingly Sri Lankan foreign officials and the professional high ranking officials in the Government Administrative Service will be appointed separately as per the policy, he said.

He said the ongoing discussion shows that new appointments need to be made at every Sri Lankan embassy overseas.
The Deputy Minister also said that the new government will focus on appointing those who were removed from Foreign Affairs due to political victimization of the former government.

Chris Nonis should not be considered for London again. He is not a team player. He is suspicious of all human beings.
Further he believes that by bribing people you can win the British politicians which is absurd.
His mentality and views on reconciliation process is similar to that of Gotabaya. He is a great admirer of Gotabaya.

All the YAKKOes in the foreign service should be terminated and sent home?
Including the Ministers who are all political appointments. Most cannot even write a sentence in English without grammatical errors. Some cannot even type on a keyboard or find a spell checker on a computer. This was the “Miracle” of the Chintanaya.
