Eight Ex Ministers To Be Arrested

Eight former Ministers will be arrested over the next two weeks over alleged involvement in bribery and corruption.

Sources said that the former Ministers are among 25 people, including members of parliament, expected to be arrested during this period.

Preliminary investigations into some members of the former government have now been completed and they will be arrested over the next two weeks.

Asked for a comment in this regard, police media spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekera said the Police Financial Crime Investigation Unit has received 52 complaints and that the final reports on the 26 complaints have been produced in court.

Accordingly those in connection with these crimes and frauds will be arrested and produced in court.

Ruwan Gunasekera said that investigations have revealed that many of these financial crimes and frauds had been carried out during the last Presidential election campaign.

    This is the signal given them to go abroad. After voting for 19th and 20th amendments, they will be allowed to flee the country

    be punished and ban from Parliamentry activities for life . Sri Lanka is the only country in the world people can getaway with murder .

  7. politicians whoever found accused in courts .should not allowed to contest election ,.bribery and corruption case found accused must sent to jail. property must seized, and cash in the bank and locker.this is the first time government judicial doing there jobs sincerely and honestly .judicial service must be independent.

  8. The biggest joke about SL judicial system is all these crooks once arrested become hospitalized . what kind of a system is this?we must change this loop hole once and for all. Any other country if a person is sick after the arrest they go to prison hospital & no exceptions.

    When you arrest people and when founbd gulty let them be in proson or provide death sentence.Dont let them be sick and end u p in national hospital. Why not prison hospital?

    I understand that Dehiwala Zoo has some unoccupied cages after removing some animals to Pinnawala. These despicable scammers, cheaters and looters should be incarcerated in those vacant cages for the people to visit them, including the Big Gorilla.
