Renegades Sign Thisara Perera To Replace Injured Bravo
Sri Lanka allrounder Thisara Perera has been snapped up by Melbourne Renegades as a replacement for the injured Dwayne Bravo. Bravo faces a long stint on the sidelines after undergoing surgery for the hamstring injury he suffered while fielding during Renegades’ match against Perth Scorchers on December 29.
Renegades have also been boosted by the return of their pace bowler James Pattinson, who has recovered from a hamstring injury, and is in line for his first appearance in Big Bash League 2016-17.
Renegades will hope the inclusion of Perera and the return of Pattinson turn out to be shots in the arm as they look to challenge for a top spot. They are currently placed fourth in the table, four points away from table-toppers Brisbane Heat, but with two games in hand.
Heat, meanwhile, have brought in England quick Tymal Mills for Samuel Badree, who is out due to a hamstring injury. Badree has been sidelined for two weeks, while Josh Lalor, too, is currently out injured.
The inclusion of Mills adds raw pace to the Heat line-up, and they will be keen on consolidating their spot at the top of the heap in BBL 6.
