PCoI on SriLankan, Mihin Lanka to be appointed next week

A Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) to investigate corrupt practices at SriLankan Airlines and Mihin Lanka is to be appointed next week, President Maithripala Sirisena said on Saturday.

The President said this at a political rally of the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) held in Matale on Saturday.

Sirisena said that once the Presidential commission is appointed the names of corrupt politicians and officials will be exposed.

He said that the country could never develop owing to the activities of corrupt officials. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. I totally agree with our great, honest and humble PRESIDENT for is brave move. Same time I would like to probe one pre 2015 and one post 2015.What I see is both pre 2015 and post 2015 are same. Crooks are in both side.

    Will the President appoint the Commission with the same mandate and powers as the Bond Commission, or will he appoint a weak Commission as we saw in the other Presidential Commission which looked into the Mega Rogues who were his party members?

  3. They should have done this at the beginning and not wait when they are cornered with the local govt., elections near.
