Jayantha and Nishantha tipped to contest for SLC top posts

By Samantha Hewabandula

Jayantha Dharmadasa and Nishantha Ranatunga are expected to contest for the top posts of Sri Lanka Cricket in a bid to make a comeback to the administration.

Sources close to both parties said that Dharmadasa and Ranatunga are likely to work together once again despite some differences in the past.

Dharmadasa is expected to contest for President of the Sri Lanka Cricket board while Ranatunga is expected to contest for the post of Secretary at the cricket board elections scheduled for later this year.

Both Dharmadasa and Ranatunga have worked together in 2013 as President and Secretary.

Dharmadasa had last year resigned from his post of Vice President of Sri Lanka Cricket following Sri Lanka’s poor run in international cricket.

Current President of Sri Lanka Cricket, Thilanga Sumathipala is not expected to contest for the post of President at the elections this year.

Nishantha is branded as a rouge, why he is coming again?

  2. Crisantha

Have Lankans have any shame? Nishantha was in prison for financial fraud. Arn’t there any other people than crooks? same story repeats over and over again. If Fraudsters, crooks, thugs and uneducated are chased away, Lanka cricket will regain its status.

The present administrators are looting all assets hard earned by our cricketers to stay in power so whoever getting together to send them home will be a blessing.
Dharmadasa is a well known administrator who always kept his office clean.
Along with Ranatunga will bring back normalcy to SLC which will give confidence to players to do well in cricket.

  4. Sri Lankan

It is baffling to all Sri Lankans to note why this Nisantha. Ranathunga who has

gained notoriety as a rogue in Sri Lanka. Cricket is head over heels to

    creep into. SLC again ???
