By Ashanthi Warunasuriya

The joint opposition is to submit a no-confidence motion against the Speaker of Parliament, Karu Jayasuriya.

Joint opposition member of Parliament Prasanna Ranatunga told The Sunday Leader online that points to be included in the no-confidence motion are still being discussed by the joint opposition.

Ranatunga said that the Speaker of Parliament is expected to be independent yet Jayasuriya is seen as being partial.

He said that a final decision has not yet been taken on when to submit the no-confidence motion.

  1. Prasanna, why waste time. You know very well you are going to be the loser. You all are dancing to the music of your ex.boss.

It’s not a matter of winning or losing, but in principle the Sri Lankans are expecting the Speaker to be unbias and act independent. I have noticed on many occasions, that he the Speaker is controlled by the UNPers.

After the Independent, we had so many Speakers Karu Jayasuriya, worst and biased Speaker in our country. He always cut off the time for any opposition members addressing in the Parliment and he always allowing Muslims, Tamils MPS to more time and he never interrupt to those members of parliament
