FR petition filed by former CJ against PC Elections Act rejected

A Fundamental Rights (FR) petition filed by former Chief Justice Sarath N Silva against the Provincial Councils (PC) Elections (Amendment) Act was rejected by the Supreme Court today.

The petition was rejected by a majority in the three-member bench.

Sarath N Silva filed the petition at the Supreme Court against the Provincial Council Elections Amendment Act in September last year.

The Provincial Council Elections Amendment Act was passed by Parliament last year.

However local civil society had raised concerns over the passage of the Act. (Colombo Gazette)

    He thinks ; he is a big man in Law, But SC Proved – he does not know basic of the Law.
