Corruption allegations against BCCSL

Vijaya Malalasekera, chairman, Interim Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka (BCCSL), and the entire committee are to be reported by BCCSL's former chairman to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption following a loss

of US $ 6 million to the Board as a result of a hurriedly concluded television rights deal.

When I was requested to contribute an article to the Leader on the occasion of Muttiah Muralitharan or simply 'Murali' as we call him, joining the 400 club, I was a little hesitant. For one thing, when you write about a person you should be objective to be able to make a fair assessment. I was not certain that I had this virtue considering our close relationship both as cricketers as well as friends.
