Talks to hinge on Interim administration

The preliminary round of discussions between the Sri
Lankan government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam is
expected to hinge around the proposal to set up an interim
administrative council for the North -Eastern Province.
The first round of talks described as 'talks about talks'
is tentatively scheduled to be held in the Thai capital of Bangkok in
late May or early June this year.

Malik has lost nearly thirty pounds in weight. Weighing
53 kilos at the time he was shot repeatedly at Udathalawinna, Malik
now appears wizened and old beyond his youth of only 26 years.
Shuffling on crutches with four horrifying gun shot wounds in his
body, Malik is determined. 'My external wounds do not really matter,'
he says bravely, asserting strongly that he is prepared to face even
death once more if it will bring the perpetrators of this dastardly
crime to justice.
