Prabha ticks off Karikalan, Karuna

Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam leader Velupillai Pirapaharan has summoned his military commanders and political commissars from the Eastern Province to the Tiger headquarters in the Northern mainland of the Wanni it is learnt.

Informed Tamil sources close to the LTTE hierarchy told The Sunday Leader that four senior Tiger leaders had left the East and reached the Wanni for crucially important discussions with Pirapaharan.

The summoned Tiger leaders are Karuna Amman, Karikalan, Pathuman and Ainkaran the sources said.



With the north opening up to the markets in Colombo, kottai kilangu (panam kilangu) once a rear delicacy is now freely available in the city.

'Fiat' accompli

With the clock ticking on Power Minister Karu Jayasuriya's self-imposed deadline to resign end June if the country is not provided with an uninterrupted power supply by that date, the Ceylon Electricity Board has signed away millions of dollars due on a contract with Fiat Avio of Italy in the hope of getting the GT7 gas turbine up and running before D-day.
