These are trying times indeed for both the ruling United People's Freedom Alliance and the main opposition, the United National Party (UNP). The government's failure to put the peace process back on track after four months since coming into power and to control thesky rocketing cost of living is certainly not earning the Freedom Alliance any brownie points.
