The
manner in which the saga of the Indian ship damaging Sri
Lanka's main connectivity to international phone lines
ended last week has raised questions whether there was
high level interference at diplomatic level.
Soon
after the ship damaged the cable, authoritative letters
from officials at the Ports and Aviation Ministry read
that it should be detained immediately pending further
investigations. Court orders were called for to arrest
the ship but when the order was obtained, the Indian
vessel had already set sail.
