In a Nutshell

Super sec

The former chief of the naval kind who is now reduced to the post of sec at the ministry overseeing roads and highways is generating a few laughs these days. Though he shed his uniform to don civilian garb, the mindset is still very military and he obviously feels the need to surround himself with a dozen of security types.

What's worse, the non-cab head for highways, Tee Bee Dissa had a moment of panic when his car was stopped on its tracks to allow the secy to make a beeline to the same ministry office. Talk about super secys in the making in a state gone all military!  Hmmm!

Presidential delay

Passengers who happily boarded UL 303 from the Lion City last Wednesday were in for a rude surprise. They had to kick their heels and wait for three long hours with no food or drink and fuming too, until the flight could take off at 6.30 p.m, SIN time.

And all this drama because the Prez had arrived in the City for a check up that is medical and was to fly back home on board the same UL 303. And who would dare breathe a word against a Maha Raja ? Certainly not his loyal subjects eh?

feline fury

Talk about a cat fight.  One is about to erupt as two damsels from the silver screen are to compete from that southern city Galle - on the blue ticket of course. The issue is that the older of the two cannot stand the younger who we all now know has a penchant it seems for politics and politicos. Particularly those of the big and muscled kind.   Anyway, claws have been unsheathed and it is now left to Mahinda Maama to solve yet another dispute before the fur really begins to fly.  Meow!

More the merrier

And now the top cop from down south is also hoping for a nomination.. What with film stars, and all those military men.. the khakied kind are also only too willing to jump into the fray.  And why not eh? After all why not make hay while the sun is shining - human rights and all be darned!
