You could say Chitral Somapala (‘Chity’ as he is informally known) was destined from a young age to go into music.

He grew up immersed in it – his father P. L. A. Somapala and mother Chitra were both legends in the local music scene (his father as a film music director, and his mother as a singer).

But while his parents left their own unique legacy, Chitral says that he always wanted to do something different.
