Comment contributors are encouraged to express their opinions but these opinions must be tempered to what can be published by this newspaper. Comments must be relevant to the article and are not the place to raise new unrelated issues. Nor should comments have any racially motivated or secular attacks, incite or advocate violence, or personal attacks against the author. Comments must be confined to the content of the article, or raised in reply to other comments.

No ‘text speak’ will be accepted.
No foul language will be accepted, even if the word is struck out. Language should be confined to what is acceptable in polite company, mixed gender with possibly children present.
No inciting or advocating hatred or violence against any individual or group
Comment must relate to the published article and not go ‘off topic’
No personal attack or criticism of the journalist or author will be tolerated.
Unsubstantiated claims and insinuations in comments made against a third party will not be published.
Phone numbers and email addresses will not be published.
Links to other web sites, YouTube etc., will be scrutinised for acceptable content and relevance and may result in the comment not being published.
The moderator reserves the right to make corrections to a comment where a word is clearly misspelt and correction will aid readership or searching. This will be done without referral to the author. No rewriting of badly written comments will take place, they will simply be rejected.
